Pause

The blog has been on a hiatus for a bit and I guess it deserves some explanation. Denver was amazing - I had a great time with my friend's parents. I will post pictures of that soon. Vegas was fun as well - but you know how that goes. What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. What I will say about Vegas, however, is that I probably ate something bad which landed me in the ER and hopped up on painkillers for a few days. Today is the first day that I feel somewhat normal. I am now safely in Los Angeles with my family. The neice and nephew are awesome as always. I'm bummed that this roadtrip is slowly coming to a close but it ain't over until it's over! More to come...

Las Vegas, NV: What happens in Vegas...

A whole lotta nothin' when driving through Utah. Oh and I clipped a tiny bit of Arizona too.

1st room at the Palazzo. My advice to my dear friends - don't stay here. WORST customer service ever.

Day #1 - "Hello, front desk. I fear for my safety as the guys in the next room sound like they're beating up this girl and yelling death threats at her." Front desk: "Sorry, we are completely booked. Nothing we can do about it."

Day #3 - "Hello, front desk. We need late check out as we are currently sitting in the Emergency Room and can't get back to the hotel." Front desk: "Sorry, no late check out is available today."

Flowers!

Dinner at Sushi Samba. Yes, that is a piece of fois gras perched atop some tuna sashimi. Really? Really?! Life could not be much better than a party of fois and sashimi in your mouth. Well, maybe.

Hey, look! It's fake Venice! Can't believe real Venice was only two months ago... flooded at midnight and amazingly beautiful.

Last but not least. Yes, I was taking pictures with my iPhone while high on Morphine. Nope, sorry. Can't elaborate. I can say, however, that the night shift nurse at Sunrise Medical Hospital in Las Vegas is gggg-gorgeous. Or maybe it was just the morphine. No, he's worth a visit. Ask for Michael.

As for the rest of the story, where the flowers came from and why I didn't go home with Michael... you'll just have to ask me in person. =)

Denver, CO: Planes, Helicopters and Yummy Food!

First stop, ice cream!

Next, a little driving tour around downtown Denver. Capitol building and some downtown high rises.

Union Station and the Convention Center (check out the big blue bear!)

More downtown stuff...

Promenade and Art Museum (looks like a penitentiary to me)

Dinner with Jeff's parents at Sushi Den. Jeff, it's kind of scary how well they know you there... The food was all delicious. I especially liked the mushroom tofu and copperhead salmon sashimi. Mmmm....

Kosher brisket, my favorite! And my new fav pup - Fluffy! Fluffy, what did you do to your hair?!

Relaxing at the pool with a Fat Tire. Ahhh, the life!

More food! We went to dinner at another favorite of Jeff's - Rioja in Lodo. Food was pretty but so-so. The service left much to be desired.

As if my time in Denver couldn't get any better, I was treated to a helicopter ride! My very first helicopter experience!

Check out how huge this helicopter is!

Views over Denver

Me and Fluffy!

Colorado really is beautiful... check out these views while driving towards Las Vegas
